Steve & Georgina: 1920s Wedding at Swiss Gardens & Shuttleworth Hangar 3

I had always dreamed of shooting a wedding at the Swiss Gardens as it's a place that is really special to me, and Steve & Georgina's 1920s inspired day made it happen!

Their ceremony was a beautifully intimate gathering, held in the Swiss Cottage which seats just 20 people. Georgina wowed us all when she walked down the aisle in her stunning beaded Eliza Jane Howell dress, evening gloves and art deco headdress - a beautiful modern twist on 1920s glitz and glamour. Guests peeked in at the ceremony through the windows as they said their vows and listened to heartfelt readings from family and friends.

Afterwards, everybody headed into the stunning Swiss Gardens for drinks and canapes, and we were lucky enough to have a tour to find fabulous places for Steve & Georgina's portraits. I always thought the Grotto would make an amazing setting for wedding portraits.. and it was just as great as I'd imagined.

Hangar 3 at the Shuttleworth Collection was the setting for their reception, and that was where Georgina's vision truly came to life. Walking into the hangar was a real wow moment, with patriotic bunting hanging from the rafters and tables decorated with fabulous feathered centrepieces and sequinned tablecloths.

Before the wedding breakfast began, guests were treated to a tour of the historic Shuttleworth collection, and we were so grateful to be allowed past the barriers to take portraits next to the aeroplanes - thank you Shuttleworth!

Steve & Georgina, thank you so much for asking me to photograph your day. It was an honour to capture the love and dedicated vision that was your wedding day!

Grace & Mark: Flitwick Church & Garden Marquee Wedding

I think Grace & Mark's wedding day wins the award for hottest of the year - we were blessed with blinding sunshine from start to finish. Lots of suncream needed!

Their day was a beautiful celebration of family and friends, with the gorgeous blue and purple hued bouquets and arrangements made by a friend, the Rolls Royce wedding car owned and chauffeured by a family friend and of course, their sunny celebrations set in a marquee at Grace's parents' beautiful home. Everybody came together to create Grace & Mark's wedding day with them, and every little thing was done with love as a result.

Grace & Mark, it was a huge honour to be asked to capture and be a part of your big day. We wish you every happiness for the future!

"Where do I even begin?  Firstly, thank you for the wonderful photographs. We have already been flicking through and sharing some with out nearest and dearest. They have made us laugh and cry (well, me mainly, but I'm sure he felt it inside!).

On the day of the wedding, we thought you both were exceptional. You were enthusiastic, non-intrusive and captured some wonderful spontaneous moments. You got that balance of making sure the best photos got taken whilst letting the wedding day simply flow.

Mark and I felt we had a wonderful wedding and a cracking reception, and you captured that beautifully. We cannot thank you enough. We now just need to decide on our favourite photographs, which will not be an easy task! Thank you, thank you!" - Grace & Mark

Emily & Callum: Elegant Shuttleworth Mansion House Wedding

Emily and Callum’s day was a beautiful, elegant affair, set in the beautiful surroundings of the Shuttleworth Mansion House.

They met at school, and years later Callum proposed to Emily with an engagement ring Pandora charm, so they could go ring shopping together and pick the perfect engagement ring. What a wonderful idea!

After the ceremony in the Billiard Room we sneaked out for photographs, and with their pale pink and navy blue colour scheme, the rhododendrons that had just come into bloom made the absolute perfect backdrop for their portraits.

A quiz on their lives together during dinner proved an absolute hit, and the flower raffle too, a fantastic way to get your guests involved in your day. With non-traditional yet touching speeches from both the bride and groom’s sisters, I really felt like I had got to know their wonderful families by the end of the day,

They finished their night with a wonderful rendition of the dance from Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, a packed dance floor and photo booth fun. Thank you Emily & Callum, it was a real privilege to photograph your day!

"We loveeeeee them! They are so stunning. We can’t thank you enough. You captured some great moments and we didn’t even know our picture was being taken! You captured everything perfectly and I can’t stop looking at them!" - Emily & Callum

Vicky & Dan: Barns Hotel Bedford Wedding

I always like to remember who were the first couple to book us for the next wedding season, and I believe Vicky and Dan were the ones we can give the most organised couple award to!

The Barns Hotel in Bedford was the setting for their day, and one of my favourite things about this venue is where the bridal suite is situated, so they get to see all of their guests and the groom arriving one by one. Cue lots of excited peeks out of the window!

I loved Vicky’s elegant bridal look, with her lace dress and flowing train, and bouquet of white peonies and hydrangeas by Greycourt Florists.

They said their vows to each other in the Tithe Barn, and left under a sprinkling of confetti thrown by closest friends and family. The weather was perfect and the afternoon was spent enjoying drinks on the patio before returning to the turned-around barn for their wedding breakfast, drinking and dancing.

Congratulations Vicky & Dan, it was a joy to photograph your day!

"Dan and I just wanted to say again thank you so much for yesterday. You guys were amazing and I cannot wait to see the photos! I knew when I saw your beautiful photography that I wanted you to capture our wedding day and I'm so glad you did.

You honestly were amazing... and thanks for all the 'added extras': you're not just photographers.. you're buttonhole putter on-ers, canapé and drinks give outers, guest organisers.. you were fantastic! Our guests have also told us how lovely and unobtrusive they thought you were. Thank you again."
- Vicky & Dan

Natalie & James: Turvey House Marquee Wedding

I always love shooting weddings where the couple are carrying on a tradition (or creating one!) by getting married in the same church as a set of their parents. It's such a wonderful thought, and especially if I get asked to recreate a wedding photograph, which is one of the most touching gestures I can imagine.

They celebrated their big day over at the stunning setting of Turvey House, a huge country house set in acres of wonderful countryside. After the ceremony, guests were greeted by the most incredible canapes I have ever seen, provided by James’ mum whose company catered their wedding. Little caesar salads wrapped up in romaine lettuce leaves, duck pancakes and roast beef yorkshires. Amazing!

Now I’m pretty sure every wedding photographer dreams of wisteria being in bloom at at least one of their weddings each season, so when I found such a beautiful wall of blooming purple to shoot their portraits against, it made me smile from ear to ear.

Their celebrations took place in a marquee on the grounds, which they decorated with hues of green and white, and a nod to Alice in wonderland with their afternoon tea wedding breakfast, playing card place cards and drink me bottles of sloe gin.

The evening was spent with everybody out in the glorious sunshine, playing lawn games and chatting in the walled garden. The perfect chilled out evening after a joyful, heartfelt day.

Congratulations Natalie & James, it was a joy to photograph your amazing day!

"Thank you soooooo much for all of your hard work! Could you please let us know when you are back from holiday and potentially available for us to take you out for dinner or at the very least a very expensive drink! We are so happy we chose you guys, you made everything so easy!" - Natalie & James
