Clare & Khaled: Multicoloured Vibrant Wedding at Bedford School

Clare & Khaled’s wedding day was a vibrant, colourful and fun celebration, held at the unique venue of Bedford School. With colourful bouquets by Elworthy Flowers, bright jewel-coloured bridesmaid dresses and leaving their ceremony under clouds of rainbow confetti, it was a day filled with colour and joy from start to finish.

Their day mixed the traditional and the contemporary, with a traditional civil ceremony followed by the Great Hall being turned around into most colourful wedding reception I’ve ever seen, with lanterns in every colour draped from the ceilings, and colourful wedding favours, wild flowers and framed tickets from their favourite gigs decorating the tables - it was amazing!

Congratulations Clare & Khaled, it was such a joy to photograph your day! <3 As featured in Whimsical Wonderland Weddings!

"Thank you so much for capturing our day in such beautiful and spectacular style. We can’t begin to tell you how much we love the photographs – I’ve had so many people comment on how beautiful they are. Thank you so much for giving us photographs as wonderful as the day itself." - Clare & Khaled

Sally & Callum: Rustic floral wedding at Barns Hotel Bedford

Being a wedding photographer has turned me into somewhat of a crazy flower lady, and so it was no surprised that I am completely in love with Sally's vision for their wedding day!

Their gorgeous, heartfelt day started out in the intimate setting of Clapham church, with the vicar and his band playing upbeat, jolly hymns and a choir of children from the school the bride and groom work at singing during the signing of the register.

A quick trip in a VW camper van later, they arrived at the Barns Hotel in Bedford to continue their celebrations, in the tithe barn that had been decorated from top to toe in beautiful jars of flowers, lace table cloths, bunting and fairy lights. Their cake stood atop a stunning hand carved wooden cake stand, a thoughtful and talented gift from a family member!

Sally wore flowers dotted in her hair, and carried a huge bouquet of beautiful summery flowers: peonies, daisies, gypsophila and sweet peas, crafted by the hugely talented April Flowers. And to top it all off, a beautiful lace Justin Alexander gown from George James Bridal with a bow around the waist. Amazing!

And to top it all off, they ended their night with my favourite wedding entertainment EVER - a ceilidh band - which never fails to get people up and dancing!

Congratulations Sally & Callum - I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to photograph your gorgeous day!

"Thank you so much for everything. You both felt more like wedding guests than photographers and we really appreciate everything you did on the day for us that was above and beyond! The photos are so beautiful and natural and have captured our day perfectly. We will recommend you to everyone!"  - Sally & Callum

Rachael & Jay: Book Themed Wedding at Furness Abbey Ruins

One of my favourite weddings so far, Rachael & Jay’s day was not only full of meaning when it came to every detail of their day, but it was also absolutely beautiful also.

Their wedding day started off early with a trip to the registry office, where they formalised their marriage and exchanged Kintsugi rings - made in the style of the Japanese tradition of repairing broken pottery with gold.

Rachael & Jay then parted ways to get ready for the main part of the day, their wedding ceremony in front of family and friends, held in the ruins of Furness Abbey where Rachael used to play as a child. Officiated by one of the groom’s friends, after heartfelt readings from family & friends, they exchanged white roses and said their vows to one another.

Afterwards, we made an impromptu trip to a beach that held a special place in Rachael’s heart for photographs.. a place she says “fills her soul”. Rachael owns a popular children’s bookshop so it was only natural that their wedding reception was book themed, with each table decorated in piles of antique books and Alice-in-Wonderland style bottles of sloe gin for every guest, with a book cake to match!

Thank you Rachael & Jay for having us capture your INCREDIBLE day. And I am so thrilled to say that their wedding has been published on Rock N Roll Bride HERE!

"Cat has transformed my memories of my day. She saw what I couldn't see, she witnessed the things that were important, and she reflected whatever mattered.

I hadn't realised how important a wedding photographer was. But Cat did more than take photos. She created lasting memories and has managed to give me a really fantastic feeling about one of the most important days of my life, which is pretty much the best gift anyone could ever give me." - Rachael & Jay

Tabitha & Paul: Wigginton Church & Hastoe Village Hall Wedding

With bride Tabitha as an incredibly talented designer and groom Paul as a collector of vintage design and antiques, I knew this day was going to be amazing from the first moment I met them!

Their day was the perfect mix of heartfelt celebration, tradition and creativity, as they exchanged their vows in St Bartholomew's Church, Wigginton where 6 generations of Paul’s family had been married there before him. It’s cosy, candlelit interior made for a beautiful, intimate ceremony which I have to admit made me tear up a little bit!

After the ceremony, they looked back upon their Italian holiday engagement with ice creams by Elsie’s Ices in the grounds of the church before heading to the beautiful nearby Hastoe Village Hall for their celebrations.

Decorated with festoon lights and vintage objet d’art, Tabitha & Paul had sourced so many incredible items to adorn the hall with: vintage soda syphons as their table centrepieces (converted to lamps by the groom), an antique slot machine, telephones and a typewriter. They even set up a miniature funfair in a marquee, featuring a bash the clown game, tin can alley and hook the duck to name just a few!

Tabitha wore an incredible Kenneth Winston dress with stunning symmetrical lace overlay and Rachel Simpson shoes, and Paul wore a Ted Baker suit with telephone cufflinks as a nod to his love for collecting vintage telephones. The bridesmaids wore sequin-embellished Jenny Packham dresses and they carried blush pink, duck egg and coral hued flowers adorned with succulents.

With her talent for producing beautiful graphic prints, Tabitha created a framed, bespoke illustration of the church to give to their parents as wedding gifts – a wonderful and thoughtful touch which they were absolutely delighted with.

We sneaked out after the speeches to a nearby field to grab some photos in the incredible golden hour light, producing some of my favourite wedding photos ever taken!

I am ridiculously thrilled to say that Tabitha & Paul's day has been featured on Rock My Wedding HERE - read on to find out more about their big day in Tabitha & Paul's own words!

"Thank you so so much for shooting our wedding. Whilst we've only seen a snippet of the shots they are mind blowingly gorgeous and we cannot wait to see the rest! You made us feel so relaxed at at ease and I barely noticed I was having my photo taken most of the time! " - Tabitha & Paul

Rosie & Dan: Huddersfield Church & Dewsbury Town Hall Wedding

I always say to brides and grooms that I'll travel wherever I am needed for weddings - I don't just stay within the Bedfordshire area! So when Rosie & Dan got in touch to ask if I'd photograph their gorgeous town hall wedding in Huddersfield.. well I was more than happy to help!

Rosie & Dan’s March wedding day was beautiful, relaxed and effortlessly stylish, with hues of pinks and reds in their peony flowers and bridesmaids dresses and the wonderful blossom we found in a nearby park to take portraits in front of! Rosie wore a beautiful Naomi Neoh dress with a lace bolero and flowing chiffon train, and Dan, his groomsmen and the world's cutest pageboys were clad in tweed suits.

Their heartfelt church ceremony was filled with singing, worship and love, with sermons and hymn singing led by their friends, and as a result I must admit one of the bridesmaids caught me tearing up on more than one occasion!

Their celebrations continued at the stunning Dewsbury Town Hall, decorated with large Mr & Mrs lettering handmade by the father of the bride and Tunnock tea cake favours for each guest which doubled as name cards. And what could be more delicious than a cheesecake wedding cake?!

We finished the night sneaking out onto the front steps of the church with the wedding party, braving the rain for a sparkler photo - what a way to finish your wedding photos!

I'm so thrilled to say that Rosie & Dan's day has been featured on So You're Getting Married today, thank you so much Phoebe for the wonderful feature!
