Lorna & John: Relaxed Spring Wedding at Furtho Manor Farm

As Lorna’s mum is a close friend of mine, when Lorna & John got engaged I was more than happy to suggest some venues when they began their wedding planning and were looking for a chilled-out, rustic vibe for their day. I was so thrilled to hear they booked Furtho Manor Farm and it was such a treat to return there to capture their wedding.

My day started capturing the pre-wedding excitement as the girls got ready at the farmhouse. It was so special capturing people I’ve known for so long on such an important day and they made me feel so welcome! Meanwhile, my second shooter caught up with John and his best man as they greeted guests before the ceremony. It’s always so lovely being able to capture both stories on the morning of a wedding and I know couples love being able to have a little peek into what the other got up to!

The barn was decked out with sheer fabric draped from the ceilings and a beautiful floral arch, providing the perfect backdrop for their vows. Their ceremony was so personal and lovely, with Lorna’s brother walking her down the aisle, readings from their closest friends and the couple exchanging handwritten vows.

A confetti tunnel kicked off the celebrations, followed by drinks and photos on the lawn. It was such a chilled-out, lovely day - exactly what Lorna and John wanted. Dinner was a relaxed affair too, with guests sharing plates of delicious curry for the wedding breakfast, followed by touching speeches. The barn was every bit as rustic and beautiful as they’d imagined with wooden cross-back chairs and eye-catching arrangements of red and white ranunculus, anemones and tulips on the tables.

For a little break from the wedding madness, we went off with Lorna and John to take couple photos and I was so thrilled to find a beautiful white blossom tree to shoot under. It perfectly encapsulated the season they’d chosen to get married in and it was lovely to laugh with them both as they enjoyed a quiet moment together.

Instead of a traditional first dance, Lorna and John opted for a ceilidh band, which was a hit with everyone and made for some fantastic photos. It’s my favourite wedding entertainment and always gets everyone up and dancing!

Seeing Lorna, John and their daughter start this new chapter was such a privilege - I’m so grateful they asked me to capture their day and it’s definitely one that will stay with me for a very long time. Congratulations you two!

To the best ninja photographers in the business.. thank you, we absolutely love them and have enjoyed reliving our wedding/ best day ever with a cuppa and croissant!

Rita & Adam: Rustic Summer Wedding at South Farm, Royston

As one of my favourite and most visited venues, South Farm is a place close to my heart and it was just lovely to return there for Rita & Adam’s wedding day.

The Old Dairy at South Farm was the setting for their vows, with Rita beaming as she met Adam at the end of the aisle. Their heartfelt ceremony was a real privilege to capture and one that truly reminded me of how special my job is. Cheers erupted as Rita and Adam started their married life through an explosion of confetti thrown by their nearest and dearest, as always in front of the iconic South Farm blue door.

Rita looked absolutely gorgeous in a sequinned strapless dress by Kenneth Winston, and Adam was dapper in a bespoke navy suit by local tailor Souster & Hicks which he paired with a green tie and pocket watch.

The relaxed vibe continued with canapes and drinks in the gardens as they were congratulated by family and friends. Dinner and speeches took place in the Tudor Barn, which looked gorgeous adorned with festoon lights and rustic green and gold table decor.

We couldn’t resist popping out to capture the golden hour, which I always find elevates couples portraits into something that looks nothing short of magical. But for me the highlight of their day that I’ll always remember was the party: as per Italian tradition, Rita & Adam’s family circled them in vibrant coloured streamers as they kicked the night off with their first dance. It was such a unique moment to capture and it’s always the first thing that comes to mind when I think about their day.

Huge love and congratulations to Rita & Adam, I’m so thrilled you asked me to capture your day!

Oh my, we are just speechless! Thank you SO much, you did such an amazing job and we are just in love with them. I don’t know how we’re going to pick which ones we want in an album and framed! We are just over the moon with them.

Talia & Andrew: Summer Marquee Wedding in Hampshire

I first met bride Talia through the Bedford creative community, so when she enquired with me about her wedding photography I knew it was going to be a fantastic day!

Their wedding was held in Hampshire on family land, with the ceremony taking place in a little wooded clearing which used to be an old chalk mine. It made for the perfect location for their vows, with the trees surrounding them as they said their vows in front of guests sat on hay bales. It was nothing short of special, with a friend conducting their ceremony and lots of readings from their nearest and dearest making it truly personal to Talia and Andrew and their story as a couple.

They left their joyful ceremony to petal confetti thrown by friends and family, and we walked out of the clearing to continue the celebrations in a nearby field. The marquee they’d set up earlier in the week looked fantastic, with tables set up with luxurious charcuterie boards and fabric chandeliers hanging from the ceilings.

The field offered more than just a view, with hay bales, hula hoops, garden games and bouncy hoppers bringing a relaxed and fun energy to the day. Nearby, they had set up glamping tents for their guests to stay in which allowed everyone to party away into the night without worrying about a taxi home!

After dinner, emotional speeches flowed, with Talia’s speech always standing out in my memory. It’s not often you have brides doing speeches but I’m always a big fan of the girls having our say too!

Golden hour beckoned and we took a little walk with Talia & Andrew to capture them in the nearby fields as the sun set. You spend a surprisingly small amount of time alone together on your wedding day and I always love to give a couple a chance to have time out and have a catch up with each other in the wedding madness!

As the day dimmed, the marquee lit up, with music and dance marking the perfect end to Talia and Andrew's memorable day. As always we captured everyone pulling shapes on the dancefloor and we left them all to party the night away!

Thank you Talia & Andrew for bringing us along for the party. We had a great time!

You are amazing. I can’t quite believe how many millions of
beautiful photos there are. We absolutely blooming love them all.
