Kelsey & Simon: Bedford Town Hall Micro Wedding + The Sun Felmersham Reception

Kelsey & Simon’s micro wedding was a brilliant reminder that a smaller, more intimate celebration can be just as joyful as a big all day affair! They booked me for four hours to capture their day with their closest family and friends and I loved every second from start to finish. As coronavirus restrictions were still easing, I wasn’t able to photograph their ceremony inside the Town Hall. Instead, I met them and their guests as they left the Hall for their confetti which was a brilliant way to kick off their photography coverage!

From there, I loved capturing them walking through the streets of Bedford with their gorgeous greyhound Dennis who was clearly enjoying being a part of the day as much as everyone else. Wandering through their hometown to Lost & Found for cocktails gave their day such a personal, relaxed feeling and it was lovely to capture everyone congratulating them at the bar.

Kelsey looked wonderful in an ethereal ruffled dress by Odylyne the Ceremony, finished with gold heels and a bouquet of dried flowers. Simon was smart in a relaxed navy suit with open-collar shirt which suited the laid-back mood of the day. We couldn’t resist nipping across the road for photos in front of the green wall outside The Store. I love a little off the cuff moment like this, they create the best couple photos where we’re just having a laugh instead of posing too much!

We finished the afternoon at The Sun in Felmersham, a little Bedfordshire pub with tons of character for an intimate dinner with their guests. The function room had been beautifully dressed with hops hanging from the ceiling beams and dried flower arrangements with pops of pink to add a bit of colour.

The speeches had everyone tearing up and laughing in equal measure and it was a lovely note to end their coverage on, but not before taking the newlyweds outside for a few little photos when we said goodbye.

Thank you for having me along for the ride, Kelsey & Simon! Huge love and congratulations to you both.

ā€œCat, these are INCREDIBLE. Honestly, I knew you were great but they’re SO amazing.

Thank you again. I’m so thrilled how you captured it. They’re such special photos!ā€
