Felicity and Chris’s wedding took me back to one of my favourite venues, the lovely Huntsmill Farm in Buckinghamshire, which I’d not been to for two years thanks to the pandemic!
Due to coronavirus restrictions, they kept it to just 30 guests and it was such a joy to document their intimate day. It started with a buzz of excitement as the girls got ready at Blacksmiths Cottage, before heading over to the Old Dairy to get changed into their outfits. Felicity wore a Cizzy Bridal dress with a matching veil, featuring delicate embroidered polkadots scattered along the end of the veil. Her bouquet was perfect for a June wedding, filled with vibrant wildflowers and beautiful pink peonies (my favourite!)
They were one of the first couples to have an outdoor ceremony at Huntsmill Farm and it was an honour to capture them saying their vows under The Shed, overlooking the Buckinghamshire countryside. Their ceremony was led by a friend and I always love these sorts of ceremonies best that showcase their personality and story as a couple!
After a shower of petal confetti, everyone enjoyed drinks in the sunshine whilst the barn was set up for dinner: long tables, big urns of wildflowers and that rustic vibe that Huntsmill always excels at.
During their drinks reception, Felicity and Chris stepped into the barn with a few close family members to make it legal with short but sweet civil ceremony. Speeches before dinner made for a lovely transition into the next part of the day and I loved capturing everyone’s reactions as their nearest and dearest spoke. Everyone enjoyed barbecue food for the wedding breakfast and after dinner everyone sprawled out into the gardens to make the most of the garden games which quickly got competitive!
Huntsmill sunsets are the best and we were so fortunate to be treated to one, making the most of the beautiful golden hour light as the newlyweds took a quiet moment away from the wedding madness.
One of the things I loved most about their day was how they adapted to the restrictions - at this point you couldn’t have indoor dancing so they decided to have a silent disco outside in the courtyard instead! It was such a fantastic idea and it made for great photos capturing everyone dancing under the festoon lights as the sun set.
“I can’t begin to explain how much we love these!!! It has taken me right back to the day and they’ve just come out better than I could have imagined! We had a great day with you and felt so at ease, and we’ve had so many comments about how laid back and easy going you were, so thank you so much - it was exactly what we wanted.”
