Hannah & Sam: Summer Wedding at The Sun, Felmersham

As lockdown restrictions for weddings started to ease, I was thrilled to be shooting weddings again and Hannah & Sam’s July day feels like a little time capsule of that moment. Looking back on it years later, seeing everyone wearing face masks as they exchanged their vows is a reminder of what we all did to ensure our weddings could go ahead safely!

Their lovely countryside wedding started with Hannah getting ready at her parent’s home, a relaxed morning sharing tea and cake with her bridesmaids before she got into her dress. And what a dress it was - an incredible embroidered gown by Alexander McQueen which remains one of my all time favourite dresses to this day! She paired it with bright red Aquazzura heels that tied in so well with the red poppy motifs on her dress. Sam was equally stylish in a double-breasted suit by Paul Smith.

I’ll always remember her emotional arrival at the church, it’s always one of those pinch-me moments that makes the day feel real. Their ceremony took place at St Mary’s Church in Felmersham, a beautiful village church that made for the perfect setting for their vows. Guests threw confetti and cheered as they left the church and it was wonderful to see so much joy unfolding after all the uncertainty that 2020 gave us!

Everyone took a short walk to The Sun in Felmersham for their wedding breakfast, held in a stretch tent in the pub garden. I’ve always had a soft spot for village pub weddings like these, they always have such a relaxed vibe that makes for the best photos! Their BBQ wedding breakfast suited the vibe of their day perfectly, followed by emotional speeches that had everyone laughing and tearing up in equal measure.

As the evening came in, Hannah and Sam had their first dance outside as everyone watched on. And of course I couldn’t resist grabbing a photo of them with their adorable little dog before I left!

Thank you both so much for having me capture your day. I still look back on it so fondly after all this time and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

ā€œThank you so much for taking the photos at our wedding, they were 100% worth the wait! We did a viewing with the whole family - it felt so special and the photos were exactly as we had always hoped they would be.Ā

You truly captured the joy of the day. Everyone looked so happy and we will treasure these forever. Now, it’s the really tough decision of trying to work out which ones we want to frame!ā€
